Simple Key Lime Tarts
Key limes are are the quintessential ingredient of this famous dessert. Who knew that you’d only need 5 ingredients to whip up these portion-controlled desserts.
Using mini graham cracker pie crusts allows you to enjoy dessert without overdoing it! The crumbly crust pairs well with the smooth filling and is the perfect end to a meal.These limes and pie became famous in Key West. Juice from limes was also used by families to add flavor to fish, turtle and conch steaks.
2 eggs
2 egg whites
1 can (14 oz.) fat free sweetened condensed milk
½ cup key lime juice
8 mini graham cracker pie crusts
- Heat oven to 350°F.
- Whisk all ingredients in a large bowl.
- Place mini pie crust on baking sheet. Pour mixture evenly into each mini pie crust.
- Bake for 15 minutes. Cool on wire rack. Refrigerate up to 1 day before serving.
Makes 8 servings, 1 tart each.
